BastilleLes associations françaises et franco-américaines de Chicago en partenariat avec le Consulat général de France se mobilisent afin de célébrer le 14 juillet. Pour la troisième année consécutive, un grand Bal populaire gratuit aura lieu sur la place de la mairie au Daley Plaza le lundi 14 Juillet de 17h00 à 21h00.

Take a Guided Tour of the Chicago Art Institute’s French Collections!  You will have the opportunity to take a guided tour in French / en français of French art at the Chicago Art Institute. The tour will focus on the theme of liberty as France celebrates Bastille Day in July.

indibastilleFortville (IN).  On July 12, 2014, Indiana will celebrate its 5th annual Bastille Day in Fortville’s Landmark Park from 4p.m. to 11p.m. To experience a little bit of French culture visitors will enjoy a Parisian atmosphere thanks to French singer from Cincinnati Sylvain Acher and his band Frenchaxe performing a variety of swing, jazz, gypsy and world beat original songs and music and a  variety of fine beverages and French artisan foods (including crêpes). You can participate in a pétanque tournament or watch local restaurants compete in the “course des garçons de café” also known as the Waiters Race. You will see as costumed performers add a historical dimension to the event. Children can take part in the traditional lantern procession and all will get a thrill out of the one-of-a-kind laser light show finale. Des Moines (IA). Sunday, July 13, 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.- Come celebrate the French National Day with L’UFE Des Moines at Birdland Park, Des Moines, 2100 Saylor Rd.
The celebration begins with a French potluck at 12:30pm at the Ding Darling Enclosed Shelter. Bring a dish to share with your new amis (friends). French ImpressSt. Louis (MO).  Impressionist France: Visions of Nation from Le Gray to Monet
The Saint Louis Art Museum offers a ground-breaking exhibition with a  fresh perspective on landscape imagery in 19th century France. 120 paintings and photographs from 37 institutions around America and Europe will be presented as St. Louis celebrates the 250th anniversary of its founding by French settlers. The exhibition go through July 14th, 2014.


Kansas City (MO).  On July 13, 2014, the Alliance Française of Kansas City presents the Annual Bastille Day Celebration from 2p.m. to 6p.m.
Come for Revolutionary Trivia, Classical Singers, Pilaf Hits and Cabaret Selections. Can-Can dancers and live impromptu readings of famous French theater oeuvre. There will be special French-themed cuisine & cocktails, costumes & more!

BastilleminniMinneapolis/St Paul (MN).  On July 19, 2014, Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul presents the Bastille Day celebration featuring live music by French crooner Tangi Colombel and the Francine Roche trio, the best baguette of the Twin Cities award, pétanque games, face paint and more! The event is from 4p.m. to 10p.m. and its free for children 12 and under. Adult admission is $10 and can be purchase by calling 612-332-0436 or at the event.

Omaha (NE). Sunday, July 13 from 4pm to 7pm Bastille Day Picnic.
On the eve of Bastille Day, join the Alliance Française d’Omaha and celebrate at this fun and festive event, food, friendship, and the singing of La Marseillaise ! See flyer.





Montgomery (OH).  On Friday, July 11, 2014, Alliance Française of Cincinnati presents their Bastille Day celebration at Swaim Park in Montgomery. Mark the date and join the locals for delicious French food, French music and many more surprises!

On Saturday, July 19, 2014 join Montgomery Sister City to celebrate 25 years of friendship at this year’s annual summer street festival. Each year, Bastille Day Festival raises funds to support the sister city activities between Montgomery, Ohio and Neuilly-Plaisance, France.


Thousaaccordian-player-bastille-daynds of people come to enjoy two stages of entertainment, local food vendors, a wide-variety of brews and wines, a fantastic kids’ fun area plus many other activities done with a French flair. This year, the north stage will feature a FAMILY lineup of entertainment including animal, puppet and magic shows.  The main stage will feature the traditional opening of Bastille Day, with the US and French national anthems done by the Sycamore Community Band.  The evening lineup features “rock music” by the talented party band, The Menus, and a vocal harmony group, The Mistics.




Fete MarquetteMadison (WI).  July 10th-13th the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center will host the 9th annual four-day La Fête de Marquette to celebrate French Culture & Music with bands and singers from France and French-speaking countries (Québec, Haïti…)
Not to be missed on Sunday, July 13:  Naila (Paris), HK et Les Saltimbanks (France/Algeria) and Emeline Michel (Haïti).

Milwaukee (WI).  On July 10th through 13th, 2014, Milwaukee’s popular French festival and one of the nation’s largest French-themed celebrations, returns to downtown Milwaukee’s Cathedral Square Park.
BastilleDays MilwaukeeThe free, four-day bash attracts over 250,000 visitors annually who enjoy live music, an international marketplace, chef and wine demos, French and Cajun cuisine, roaming busker entertainment and a signature 43-foot Eiffel Tower replica offering hourly light shows. The event is known for the impromptu street performers, roaming minstrels, a variety of interactive and musical entertainment. Bastille Days also boasts a wide variety of some of the best restaurant vendors in Milwaukee! The Alliance Française of Milwaukee has been involved with the festival since it was created in 1981 to highlight Milwaukee’s French origins.
