University of Northern Iowa welcomes Mr. Lacroix to discuss study abroad and immersion programs
On October 10th, the University of Northern Iowa welcomed Consul General Lacroix on its main campus in Cedar Falls to discuss with students and faculty opportunities to reinforce or develop existing study abroad programs and partnerships with France. The promotion of university exchanges is one of Consul General Lacroix’ top priorities.
"At Northern Iowa I was also briefed about the progress made by the immersion program in the city of Waterloo (the first of this kind in Iowa). It is encouraging to see that everyone is aligned, to make it stronger, from elementary to the faculty level," said Lacroix.
Waterloo Schools’ dual-language immersion program to expand

WATERLOO — A dual-language immersion program started at Lou Henry Elementary in September is growing and expanding to a second school.
There will be a kindergarten and a first-grade class at Lou Henry next fall where students are taught in French for half a day and in English the other half. The program, which started with a kindergarten class, was believed to be the first French dual-language program in the state. [Read more...]
