    Night of Ideas

    JANUARY 30, 2020 | 6PM-MIDNIGHT. The Field Museum and the Consulate General of France in Chicago are thrilled to present Chicago’s first ever Night of Ideas. Free and open to the public, this global celebration of thought will welcome bright minds from academic, artistic, scientific, and civic communities for a six-hour marathon of ideas on this year’s theme “Alive!”.

    ONE EACH: Still Lifes by Pissarro, Cézanne, Manet & Friends at the Toledo Museum of Art

    The exhibition of French still lifes will be on view from January 18 to April 12, 2020. Organized in partnership with the Cincinnati Art Museum, the exhibition promises to be a focused but rewarding experience of a selection of richly evocative still lifes painted by French artists in the 1860s.

    Ballet Biarritz to perform in Des Moines and Detroit

    French contemporary dance company Malandain Ballet Biarritz returns to the Des Moines Civic Center on February 13 with Cinderella and will make its Detroit Opera House debut on February 15 with a repertory program performing works from classic composers including Vivaldi, Chopin and Ravel.

    Notre Dame rebuilding efforts - Together with Notre Dame Public Solidarity Concert

    On Saturday, June 8th, the Consulate General of France in Chicago, in collaboration with St. John Cantius Church, hosted a musical moment of reflection for Notre Dame de Paris.

    The program featured a combined choir of over 100 voices and talented organists and conducts from all over Chicagoland. The repertoire included French works composed in Paris at Notre Dame.
