Milwaukee, WI, June 29, 2010 — The Alliance Française de Milwaukee is back again this year to lend an authentic French flair to Milwaukee’s 2010 Bastille Days Festival, Thursday July 8 through Sunday, July 11.

Alliance Française has a new look !
Our new Alliance Française Tent this year is located on Jackson Street in front of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist with an expanded menu; seating area with a Parisian Café ambiance. Festival-goers will feel as if they are in France at the AF Tent thanks to our Parisian Café-style seating area where around-the-clock staff of bilingual greeters will welcome visitors who want to talk and learn about francophone activities around Milwaukee.

Beignets, Café au lait and more!
AF beignets and sweet hot fritters, made at the AF Tent have become a true Bastille Days tradition. In fact, Bastille Days visitors gobble them up as fast as we can make them! True beignet connoisseurs insist on pairing this pièce de résistance with our New Orleans-style café au lait. A match made in heaven! Our menu has expanded this year to include Salade Niçoise, Plateau de Fromage (cheese plate), a variety of sandwiches – all prepared by Larry’s Brown Deer Market, as well as Café glacé (iced coffee)!

Fun French activities will take place at the AF tent during the four days of the festival including:

- The Consul General of France in Chicago, M. Graham Paul, will inaugurate the festival and will be honoring us with a special visit at 12pm on Thursday to meet with Dr. Martine Meyer, who is being honored for her many years of dedication to teaching French by a reunion of past students.
