Pique Nique/Picnic

6:00-10:00 pm: Enjoy the summer evening and bring your own picnic to dine ’en plein air’ - we will have vendors selling crêpes and frites. Wine and beer will be available for purchase and consumption near the picnic area, as well as delicious cocktails combining some the of the most iconic french brands such as Grey Goose and St-Germain elderflower liqueur.

Profits from the bar will help cover the expenses for this free event.

Pétanque


6:00 to 10:00 pm: The coolest and most classic French sport ever, pétanque has been played on the place publique of each town and village in the south of France for centuries. All you have to do is get close to the cochonnet [ko-sho-ney]… and pretend you’re in Marseille or a village en Provence! Volunteers will be on-hand to demonstrate the game, show you how to play, and organize casual games on one of our two courses. To get an avant-goût, check this out. Waiters’ Race/La course de garçons de café


6:30 to 8:30 pm: Anyone can enter! Watch would-be waiters compete in a race that involves running as fast as you can while balancing a tray… without spilling a drop of Grand Cru. It’s our traditional event for Bastille Day, and anyone can win! For all ages.

10:15pm: Every Bastille Day celebration ends with fireworks and this year is no exception! Wind up your evening at Navy Pier watching their fabulous fireworks show! You’ll have the best seats, right at the Pier. [More Info]
