Kansas City (MO). Consul General Lacroix visits the Académie Lafayette
On November 11th, 2017, Consul General of France Guillaume Lacroix made his first visit to the Académie Lafayette, a French Immersion Public Charter School located in Kansas City, Missouri. Director Elimane Mbengue gave a tour of the school, which currently counts more than 900 children grades K–8. It is one of the largest immersion schools in the United States and a flagship institution in KSCMO.
"This public school ("Charter") reflects the diversity of the city and achieves the best results. All the students, Americans in their vast majority, speak French just like the French speakers even though the French language is not spoken at home. France is proud to support this establishment and hopes that the expansion projects will materialize in the near future." said Consul General Lacroix.
