On April 5th, Consul General Yannick Tagand presented the French Legion of honor to WWII veteran Emil G. Hirsch, 98, of Northbrook, Illinois. Mr. Hirsch was part of the 95th Infantry Division, 378th Regiment, Anti-Tank Company, and is one of the "Iron Men of Metz."

On March 25-27, French Ambassador to the U.S Laurent Bili made his first official visit to Chicago. On this occasion, he opened the conference on Francophone Heritage in Chicago and Illinois, and met with the economic, scientific, academic, and cultural actors of the French-American relations, as well as the French community.

Villa Albertine’s signature” Night of Ideas” took place from February 23 - March 3 in 7 cities across the Midwest. In Chicago, more than 500 attendees enjoyed an evening of activities and discussions related to urban futures and social justice.
