On May 9th, Consul General Yannick Tagand presented the French Legion of honor to WWII veteran Enoch H. Kanaya, 99, of Chicago. Sgt. Kanaya was part of the famed Nisei 442th RCT, an all Japanese American regiment known as "Go for Broke."

From May 4 to August 25, Villa Albertine’s new multi-site exhibition, under the patronage of the Consulate General of France, features the perspectives of ten emerging French and American artists in non-traditional venues and community spaces across Chicago.

On April 5th, Consul General Yannick Tagand presented the French Legion of honor to WWII veteran Emil G. Hirsch, 98, of Northbrook, Illinois. Mr. Hirsch was part of the 95th Infantry Division, 378th Regiment, Anti-Tank Company, and is one of the "Iron Men of Metz."

On March 25-27, French Ambassador to the U.S Laurent Bili made his first official visit to Chicago. On this occasion, he opened the conference on Francophone Heritage in Chicago and Illinois, and met with the economic, scientific, academic, and cultural actors of the French-American relations, as well as the French community.
