    WWII Veteran Enoch H. Kanaya awarded the French Legion of Honor

    On May 9th, Consul General Yannick Tagand presented the French Legion of honor to WWII veteran Enoch H. Kanaya, 99, of Chicago. Sgt. Kanaya was part of the famed Nisei 442th RCT, an all Japanese American regiment known as "Go for Broke."

    Northbrook (IL). WWII Veteran Emil G. Hirsch awarded the French Legion of Honor

    On April 5th, Consul General Yannick Tagand presented the French Legion of honor to WWII veteran Emil G. Hirsch, 98, of Northbrook, Illinois. Mr. Hirsch was part of the 95th Infantry Division, 378th Regiment, Anti-Tank Company, and is one of the "Iron Men of Metz."

    French Ambassador Laurent Bili visits Chicago

    On March 25-27, French Ambassador to the U.S Laurent Bili made his first official visit to Chicago. On this occasion, he opened the conference on Francophone Heritage in Chicago and Illinois, and met with the economic, scientific, academic, and cultural actors of the French-American relations, as well as the French community.
