Geoffrey Ruiz awarded the insignia of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques

On September 27, 2024, Geoffrey Ruiz, Director of the Learning Center of the Alliance Française de Chicago, was presented the insignia of Chevalier (Knight) of the Ordre des Palmes Academics by Consul General Yannick Tagand, for his dedication to promoting the French language and culture and la Francophonie.

Mr. Ruiz has been key to creating new programs and immersive experiences, such as linguistic trips to France, and re-inventing learning methods and novel communications ways. The synergies he has developed beyond the walls of the Alliance (Chicago Public Schools, Universities’ French departments...), have a real impact on the Francophone and Francophile community in Chicago, and the Consulate is looking forward to celebrating future successes and reinforcing its partnership with the Alliance Française.
