New Procedure for Visa Applications

The Consulate General of France in Chicago, along with all other French consulates in the United States, will outsource this year the collection of visa applications to VFS Global.

Starting Wednesday, June 5, 2018, the VFS Visa Application Centre (VAC) for FRANCE in Chicago will collect by appointment only, on behalf of the French Authorities, visa applications from applicants residing in the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of France in Chicago (North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Wisconsin).
Applicants residing in the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of France in Chicago can schedule an appointment on the France-Visas website.

A service fee will be charged and will be payable online when making an appointment.
To facilitate the process for students in particular, and others who do not live near an application center, a mobile visa application service may be offered.
